Today we started on the Dining Room!!! We decided to put it on a 45 too! who knew we would start putting everything on a 45... We finished more than 50% before we left for the New Year's Eve festivities at Beata's...
There are a few pictures of Tommy pulling out the staples... The brazillian cherry is so hard that some pieces of wood the staple refuses to go in... instead it gets all bent up and Tommy has to pull it out... not fun!

CHERRY MANTEL
We were home from work today... We worked on the hardwood floor in the master bedroom in the morning... then we went out to Home Depot around 1:30 and my cold got the best of me. When we got back I was quarantined and Tommy worked on the cherry mantel. He took it outside and ruffed up the ends, rounded the edges and cleaned off the bark stuff from the front. The top and bottom are smooth like glass. All it needs a little more sanding to finish it up but it is looking great!

Because of the Blizzard we had the day off from work... We worked on the master bedroom hardwood floor. We started it yesterday and continued today. We were going on both sides of where we started from... I cut and laid out the pieces while Tommy banged them in nailed them. Hooper enjoyed the snow through the window... MASTER BEDROOM on a 45
Today we cleaned up the master bedroom and then we started laying the hardwood floor. We did the sitting room first. We did that up until we got to the baseboards... that get's a little slower and is better as a one person job...
Then we started on the master bedroom itself. We decided to put it on a 45 degree angle... The main reason is because the beams switch directions halfway through the room and so if we went either of the other two ways we wouldn't be putting the hardwood floor across the beams. I think the result is good... I love that it is on a 45 and it actually makes it easier... if it were parallel with the radiator it gets difficult to finish but on a 45 it is really easy.

J&J Front Hardood Floor
Tonight after work we continued working on the hardwood floor in the front Jack and Jill Bedroom. We have gotten to the long runs that go into the closet but haven't quite finished yet. We had originally planned on putting a sill between the bedroom and the closet but we don't think it would look as good so we decided to nix it and just go straight into the closet...

Car Fix
The car wasn't capable of making it to work today... so Tom worked on the new radiator, brakes, spindles, CV Joint, etc with his dad...
I worked on knocking items off the to do list. I painted the molding in the master bath... grouted the countertop for the master bathroom... painted two doors... vacuumed the rear j&j to get it ready for hardwood and painted the green walls in the kitchen...

PARTY DAY
Today Tom planned to do my brakes in the morning but when he started decided there was more wrong than just the brakes and would require some additional parts... Meanwhile I made stuffed mushrooms for the later party...
But when that didn't work out we went to work on the hardwood floor in the J&J Front Bedroom...
We got a decent amount done before it was time to get dressed and head to Beata's housewarming and then down to allentown for the LaRue Christmas Party.

CROSSING THINGS OFF
On Saturday we worked on a bunch of smaller tasks... Tommy worked in the laundry room... he caulked the counter and sink, re-installed the dryer, installed a shelf... then he worked in the princess bedroom... he installed hangers in the closet, finished the hardwood floor, installed the toilet in the princess bathroom, put on the baseboard covers, and installed the baseboard molding... and he installed the tops to the windows in the master bathroom. I worked mostly on painting... I painted the base molding and shoe molding, put a coat on the master bath door, painted the floating crown in the master and some of the trim around the house....
Today we decided to conquer some more tile in the master bathroom shower. Tommy cut on the tile saw in the basement and fed me the pieces... I marked them up and installed them... We have all the tiles that needed funky cuts done! Only a few more pieces to go and we will be done with the tile!
