We had a crazy weekend... we prepped for Hurricane IRENE and were able to have our furniture delivered on Saturday before the rain started... We still had power on Sunday when we woke up so we were able to continue working on the kitchen cabinets.
Let's start with the cabinets because they are AWESOME. On Saturday Pawel and Tom's mom were here to help us when the furniture came but while we waited we had them help us to take out the old cabinets and bring them to the basement. Then the furniture came and the wind and rain started so they went home. We continued to work on the kitchen cabinets last night and today... they are looking pretty good. I (yup me, I take the blame) made a mistake on the measurements of one of the cabinets we made...It is 21" wide and should only be 18"... oops :( We will have to make a new one... because of that mistake we could not continue the cabinets under the window but Tommy did hang the top cabinets in the bar area. He also hung up the exhaust vent for above the range... everything is coming together.
We had all of our furniture delivered yesterday!!! Most of it was in pieces so there are stacks of furniture parts in the dining room... We did manage to put together the family room tables (forgot the picture) last night and all of the master bedroom furniture...

MOUNTED FACE FRAMES
We did some work on the face frames this evening. Tommy had to biscuit each of the carcasses and drill a bunch of pocket screw holes... Then I glued them on with the biscuits and screwed in the pocket screws.

BABY'S ROOM
We did some work in the baby's room today... We went to Home Depot and bought some material for ledge shelves... put them together... they just need finishing.
Put a little light on the wall above the changing table... and a lamp in the corner behind the glider... and the round table next to the glider...
Hung some curtains!
When we went to Home Depot they had this fan on sale for a great price, so of course we picked it up and then Tommy hung it in the baby's room.
Everything is coming together

FINISHED FACE FRAMES
Yesterday we put all the face frames together... Today Tommy spent the sanding and putting the first coat of water based finish onto the face frames with the spray gun. They are amazingly smooth and created an awesome finish.
I went shopping... found this cute sleep n' play with a Hooper Dog on the front. LOVE IT!

REMAINING DOOR PANELS
Tommy is working on shaping the last of the door panels so we can finish putting those together... These are the funkier cabinets that we weren't sure of the door size until we made the face frame... since all those are done we were able to take measurements and get those panels made...

FACE FRAME
We worked this weekend on putting together all of the face frames... I marked all the lengths and Tommy cut them using the sled on the table saw (which is a much cleaner cut then you could ever get with the miter box)... Then Tommy drilled the pocket holes and I glued and screwed in the pocket screws... We had a nice production line going!
After we were done with that Tommy spent some time zipslotting all of the door frames for the mortise (basically he biscuited the miter end of all the door frames)... We are slowly but surely gluing them together in the kitchen... We have about 2/3's done...

We started to glue up the door panels today! They look really good... Tommy also started some of the face frames on the carcasses to figure out the process, but we didn't get a picture of those...

PIGGY BANK
SOMEBODY IS IN TROUBLE!!!! Tommy came inside to find him like this...
Went shopping today... found a cute little piggy bank to start saving for Crumb's college fund... we have a ways to go but it's a start...
We did do some work today... Tommy spent the day in the garage working on the cabinets... He was cutting the miters on all the door panel frames and putting the slot for the mortis biscuit and the groove for the panel to slide into...
I worked inside... cleaning and ironing curtains... I despise ironing!

DOOR PANELS
We worked on the cabinet door panels this weekend. Cut each of our glued pieces to the correct size, sanded them, routed the cove, sanded some more, and put the first coat of sanding sealer on them. They are looking pretty good.
These are all the door frame pieces laying in sets on the floor of the dining room. We have an awful lot of doors!
Hooper is keeping an eye on his pool... he doesn't want any other deer to think it is ok to check out his pool! The window sills are the perfect height... when he looks out the window he rests his chin on them...very cute!

BABY MOBILE
Been working on a mobile for baby's room. Cut a bunch of pinwheels from different colors of paper and used rivets to hold them together. Then I got some wooden rings and painted them some different colors... Then with some help with Tommy we hung the pinwheels from the rings and got them to balance. These are the different groups of pinwheels hanging from the dining room chandelier... I need to convince Tommy to put some hooks in the ceiling in the baby's room so we can hang them in there!
WEEK 30 of pregnancy!!! Only 73 days to go! Feeling good other than some swollen feet at the end of the day...

CABINET DOOR FRAMES
Worked on the cabinet door frames this weekend. We cut 3.5" strips of cherry board first... then we ran one side of that through the jointer to get a straigh/flat edge... Then each board was run through the shaper with our door frame bit. They came out great! In between we glued up a majority of the remainder of the door panels.
