ARCHWORK

Today I painted and cleaned up the crown molding for the side porch. Tom's dad worked on the Corbels for the front porch which turned out pretty good. Tom finished up the window's in the front of the house. He did the trimwork on the dining room window and we bent the azek for over the arched windows and Tom's dad made the keystone for those. We then bent some more azek molding for the inside curve of the arched ceiling. We put the top piece over the front door and trimmed out the front door with the azek molding. we even left a space behind the molding so that we could forgo the J-channed... Then I caulked the front door to get it ready for painting.

OUTDOOR WORK

Today we worked outside some more. We went to Marvic and picked up some azek in the morning. I grouted the side porch for a few hours and Tommy worked on the trimwork underneath the arched entranceway. Tom's dad was also hear and worked on aligning the garage doors and installing the rubber seals.

Yesterday Tom's dad installed the cooktop so of course tonight we made some grilled cheese sandwiches. Hooper looks happy to be able to cook!

BUCK

I was home today. I didn't feel great because I got a root canal late yesterday. Hooper started to bark while sitting out the sliding glass door. I looked outside from upstairs and there was a big buck sleeping in the backyard that Hooper was not a fan off. By the time I got my camera he was rubbing his antlers on our maple tree. JERK!

The inspector came today and inspected the propane trench and the pressure reading and left us a white sticker. Turns out the propane company also came out and filled the propane tank. Now we just have to wait for them to come out tomorrow and hook up the regulators and we are good to go!

PROPANE TANK

We had the propane tank and the line installed to the house today. We have rented a 500 gallon above ground tank. The guys from H&H installed the tank and the line and hooked up a pressure test for inspection by the township.

TIME LAPSE

Tommy set up his lap top to take a picture every 30 seconds on the day that we poured the concrete on the driveway pad. Pawel converted the file for us and I finally got the chance to post it... Isn't it cool!

TEMPORARY KITCHEN

Mark, tom's cousin, has let us borrow some cabinets he got at a job site that he will one day use to renovate his house. He isn't planning to do it anytime soon and Tommy is going to build our cabinets from the cherry logs we got when we cut down trees which will take some time. Therefore, Tom's dad was here today and installed them in the kitchen and started working on the countertop too.

Tom's mom tackled the lovely job of removing nails from the 2x4's we used to frame out the driveway pad.

When we got home we continued with our cleaning and organizing frenzy.

GARAGE CLEAN UP

Since we now have shelves in the garage we CLEANED UP. We put everything that was all over the garage on the shelves, made a pile of returns and a pile of stuff that goes to the basement! We cleaned off all the bigger machinery and organized it. YAY!

Tom's mom came during the day and leveled the dirt in the front of the walkway. So the front is definitely looking cleaned up.

DRIVEWAY PAVERS

We worked today on the pavers on the driveway. We picked up a yard of stone dust in the morning and Tom, his mom, and I worked on spreading out and screeding it. Tom's mom kept feeding me block as I laid them randomly in the channel. Tom's dad and him went to pick up another pallet of pavers and another yard of stone dust. By the end of the day we had all the pavers laid and the sand was spread and compacted. It looks pretty good.

Meanwhile, Tom's dad worked on installing shelves in the garage. He had previously welded some brackets together and they finally got put up. They even used a corona light cap as a washer, love it!

SIDE PORCH SLATE

Today Tommy and I worked on the slate on the side porch. We need to get it finished before it is too cold to do that type of work outside. So we used all the tile we had cut up already but we ran out. Tommy cut whatever we had left that was sealed and I opened a few more boxes and sealed them before he cut them. We managed to get all the tile laid today except that we didn't do any of the cutting along the edges. We will wait till it is good to walk on and then we will do those pieces.

Meanwhile, Tom's parents were outside today working on the front yard. First they mixed some concrete to put against the pavers (it will be hidden with dirt). Then Tom's dad made a path to the other side of the property and dug up some topsoil. He dumped it along the walkway and Tom's mom spread it all out. There is still a little more to do but it is turning out great!

I couldn't get any good pictures of the walkway because it is still covered in sand...
